Home bits and bobs!

As you may or may not know, I'm moving from the lovely but small town of Adelaide, to Melbourne in July to study makeup. This will be my first ever time living alone, but I managed to get my own apartment (hooray, no share house!) and I'll be able to put whatever I want in my own (albeit small(actually tiny)) space.

The apartment comes with a bed, two wine glasses, a bucket, and not much else. Which I guess is good, seeing as that means that i have the option to buy whatever I want of everything else a human needs.

I've been madly searching through websites, looking at all sorts of bits and bobs, so I decided to make a blog post as a sort of wishlist/stuff I probably should buy list !

Kitchen

I'm not exactly the worlds greatest cook, but I make a mean quesadilla, and my hands to burn, so some kind of oven mit/tea towel set is probably a good idea. This is from Kmart and only costs $7.50 AUD, I love the colour, and I'm thinking I'm going to keep everything I buy within the same colour palette (white/cream since it's my fave for home stuff!)

Anyone who knows me, knows along with being a makeup addict, I'm also a coffee fiend, I only drink good coffee (instant coffee is gross, I don't mind what you say) and if you've never owned a french press, I reccomend you get one. It's literally the easiest way to make really good, tasty coffee. (for anyone wondering my favorite coffee is the organic frida coffee from republica coffee)

I'm one for organisation, because if things aren't organised in the first place I'll just get unorganised ridiculously fast. So clear labels on jars are good, and useful.

Bathroom

I can't stand messy/dirty showers, so I'm going to buy one of these, or something similar to this to hang in the shower to put all my lush goodies in.

Since I'll be studying make-up, there's no doubt in my heart that I'm going to be taking 99% of my makeup, because you never know when you'll need that palette you haven't used in a year and a half, right? I'm not to sure on the storage options available in the (tiny) bathroom already, so I'm planning on buying some acrylic cases to keep my make-up in my bedroom on a small table or something. I already have the ikea case (it's the GODMORGON box if you were wondering) and it's awesome for storing makeup, I really like it.

Now I'm not sure if towels are going to be something I take over with me, if not, I'll definitely be grabbing the towel that matches in colour to the oven mitt set from Kmart, I really love big towels so this is the more expensive one.

Whilst the frank body scrub is currently my favourite body scrub, I've always heard great things about the breakfast scrub, by Soap & Glory, when I do my big initial shop for this kinda stuff, this is for sure going to be something that I pick up.

Since I won't have a bath, there'll be no bath bombs for me for at least the next year, so I'm just going to have to opt for my favourite soap. Lush's porridge soap is amazing, it's exfoliating, it smells great, and it lasts FOREVER. I bought a 100g block a few months back and it's just getting to the end of it's life now.

Bedroom

Just like towels, I'm not 110% sure if I'll be taking bedding or not, but I do have my eyes on this gorgeous quilt cover set from Bed Bath N' Table, it's pretty pricey, but is super good quality.

Since I'll be taking all of my makeup brushes (and obtaining more due to my course) but probably not taking my makeup brush holders this is something high up on my list. I'll probably be keeping my brushes on my desk in my room, and candle holders work PERFECTLY for this. They're just the perfect size and height, and are usually super, super cheap.

Well, what a list!
I'll also be doing a 'what I'm taking in terms of makeup' post, and a what makeup I'm going to buy when I arrive!

Thanks for reading, leave a comment below with any ideas you have for cute homeware solutions! x
